How it started
On a long drive back from Southern Germany, Wolf said:
“We need an app that shows the five books that matter most to you. Because if those overlap with mine, that person must be someone special.” Wolf Tress, Otherland
And Jan said:
“Remember Napster, around 2000? The cool thing was never the free MP3s. It was that you could browse another person’s music. If they had five songs you loved, what else was on there that you didn’t know yet?” Jan Mühlig, relevantive
Over the next hours, somewhere on the Autobahn, the idea took shape in a kind of conceptual ping-pong. Over the next days, the first prototype was built.
That is still the whole idea: five books say enough. When someone shares a few of yours, you might want to meet them, or just see what else is on their shelf.
